Chicken Dopiaza

This is a medium spiced dish, made with succulent chicken pieces and lots and lots of onions.

 

Stuff you will need

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 4 onions, sliced
  • 500g chicken, diced
  • 2tsp ginger, grated or ginger paste
  • 2tsp garlic, crushed
  • 300ml chicken stock
  • 2tsp tomato puree
  • 100ml natural yogurt

Method

  • Slice 2 of the onions add 2tbsp oil to pan, heat then add the onions, fry until brown (approx. 15 mins). Set aside for later.
  • Slice remaining 2 onions, add to the pan with another tablespoon of oil and cook on a medium heat for 8 mins.
  • Add garlic, ginger, QURRY SPICES and a splash of water and fry for 1 min.
  • Add chicken and fry until chicken is sealed.
  • Add stock and tomato puree and stir. Then add natural yogurt, stir and cover and cook for 10 mins.
  • Remove lid and cook for a further 15 - 30 mins until the sauce had reduced and thickened.
  • Add remaining onion, stir and cook for 1min.
  • Serve
